The annual release of new smartphones by OnePlus is here again! This year, OnePlus is putting a spin on their flagship phone by introducing their first ever OnePlus 7 Pro. Alongside the Pro, there will also be the standard OnePlus 7 which will officially launched on the 14th of May in New York.
Based on the rumoured design of the OnePlus 7 which is plastered on almost every tech site, there seems to be not much of a difference compared to its predecessor – the OnePlus 6T. Nonetheless, you can expect big upgrades such as a bigger display and purportedly similar primary camera to the OnePlus 7 Pro. But, enough of the OnePlus 7. Let’s take a look at the first ever Pro smartphone from OnePlus.
HDR10+ Certified Display
The main highlight of the OnePlus 7 Pro is undoubtedly the HDR10+ certified display. What does this abbreviation mean? Technically, the HDR (High Dynamic Range) format is often found in television displays. On the other hand, the HDR+ is synonymous with Samsung products which is featured in all 2017 and newer models of UHD TVs as well as their Samsung S10 and S10+.
With this feature on the OnePlus 7 Pro, users can expect dynamic and detailed display. This is because, it is capable of producing 4000 nits of peak brightness compared to the HDR10 which only produces 3000 nits of peak brightness.
UFS 3.0 Flash Storage
The most interesting aspect which gives the Pro its edge over competitors is the UFS 3.0 Flash Storage. Older models of smartphones utilise the cheaper eMMCs (embedded multi-media cards) for information storing purposes. As for the UFS 3.0, it integrates the latest high-density NAND memory while supporting the interconnection between your phone’s chipset and memory. This will ensure a faster and more reliable way of communication between the two.
Other benefits of the UFS 3.0 flash storage includes shorter launch time for apps, faster loading time on games, faster photo-saving, reduces device power consumption and the list goes on.
OnePlus 7 Pro Release Date
As OnePlus in Malaysia seems to have quite a following, you can expect to have the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro to be pre-ordered on its launch date – 14th of May.
